Personal Data Protection Training in First Half of September

Training for Primary Schools

Throughout September, after the summer holiday and school break season, the Commissioner continued raising awareness about personal data protection. In this regard, the regular training cycle for designated Data Protection Officers in primary schools continued, aiming to foster a better understanding and more effective application of the relevant regulations. The Commissioner organizes these online training sessions every Friday for primary school Data Protection Officers; therefore, sessions held on September 11 and 18 catered to schools within the Kolubara and Zlatibor administrative districts. 15 designated Data Protection Officers attended the first session, while 25 attended the second.

Topics of particular interest to the participants included the application of the principles of legal basis and proportionality when submitting employee health data for solidarity aid payments purposes; the types of personal data that may be disclosed in response to requests for free access to information of public importance; and guidelines for properly regulating the relationships between the school (as the Data Controller) and the providers of physical and technical security services or agencies engaged in school excursions (as Data Processors).

PDPL Training at XXVIII Labor Law Conference

Training on the application of the Law on Personal Data Protection was held in Zlatibor as part of the 28th Labor Law Conference organized by Laura Consulting d.o.o. Marin Cetinić, a representative of the Sector for Education and Certification in the Commissioner’s Office, led an interactive training that encouraged active participation from attendees. The diverse participants’ backgrounds —including representatives from ministries and other public authorities, the judiciary, the banking sector, and business entities shed new light on personal data protection issues from various perspectives and facilitated the exchange of practical experiences.

The training covered key aspects of personal data processing, including fundamental principles and legal bases for processing, the rights of data subjects, the obligations of Data Controllers and Processors, data security issues, and other significant matters arising from the practical application of the Law. This interactive approach allowed specific issues to be viewed from the perspectives of different institutions and sectors, and facilitated the consideration of various approaches to resolving practical problems in the field of personal data protection.
