Commissioner for the access to the information of the public interest, Rodoljub Sabic said yesterday, that Serbia would save hundreds of millions of euros if it respected the principal, that every expense of the public money should be accessible to the public.-On all levels, from the lowest to the state, large sum of money has been missing, and that' s just because we are not using the public potential- said Sabic at the round table in the Parliament of Vojvodina.
"Small fish" are in danger
According to his words, up to date experience says that after every governmental attempt to hide form the public certain particularities about the businesses, usually are criminal and corruption. Sabic said that the people who collected the courage to report the cases of corruption were left without jobs, and that the quilt for the corruption are marked as small fish, while the leaders regularly avoided the responsibilities. He remarked that the people who were left without their jobs were the witnesses of the "road mafia" and the case of the supplying the trains from Sweden.
The member of the Republic Sector for the preventing the conflicts of the interest, Slobodan Beljanski, marked the political parties as the major offenders.
-Political parties in our country became the cartels of the connected people, which are motivated primarily by the material interest. That' s why we have society that is being bad from the top, on which for a long time and with the noticeable marks, the common sense and feeling of the responsibility, and the remaining moral consideration are rottenning - said Beljanski.
President of the Parliament in Vojvodina, Bojan Kostrea, reminded that it wasn't available to the public complete agreement about the giving the concession on the building the motorway Horgoa- Po~ega. Not even the European Union was spared.
-The regional administration 'till today hasn't succeeded completely to have the insight in to the agreement about the concessions for the motorway Horgoa- Po~ega. ' till today, not even the Parliament, or the Executive Council of Vojvodina, nor the public know all the details- said Beljanski.
Nemanja Nenadic, from the "Transparency of Serbia", said that the publicity of the particularities is the best preventive mechanism for stopping the corruption. According to his words. European integrations are important for the fight against the corruption, but are not decisive, because some latest members of the European Union also have the expressive problems in this field.
