Today, The Commissioner's Office, in cooperation with the USAID Government Accountability Initiative, held an online training on "Implementation of the Law on Personal Data Protection" for members of the Pharmaceutical Chamber of Serbia.
Commissioner Milan Marinović pointed out that this is the first time that the Commissioner's Office organizes training for entities that process personal health data, which, due to their sensitivity, represent a special type of personal data and may be processed under very restrictive conditions. The Commissioner thanked the USAID Project for the initiative to implement this type of training and also pointed out that members of the Pharmaceutical Chamber must have appropriate knowledge on personal data protection, in order to fulfill all obligations prescribed by law, and whose violation entails misdemeanor liability.
Zlatko Petrovic, Assistant Secretary General in the Commissioner’s Office and lecturer at this training, explained to the participants in further detail the application of the Law on Personal Data Protection, obligations of controllers and processors, appropriate organizational, technical and personnel measures that must be provided when processing sensitive personal data, as well as the competence of the Commissioner in this area.
All details on the procedure for appointing a person for the protection of personal data can be found on the Commissioner's website.
