In relation to the Bill determining the maximum number of employees in republic administration, which is to be discussed in the near future, the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, Rodoljub Sabic, estimates that the provisions of article 8 of this law, which stipulate the obligation of public bodies to publish information on the number of employees on the Internet, represent a contribution to the freedom of access to information. However, the Commissioner estimates that the real meaning of these provisions would be achieved only with the addition of the obligation to publish the data on budget resources used for salaries and honorary fees of employees and he therefore appeals to the Government or parliamentary groups to enable this with the necessary amendments.

In relation to this, the Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic, has highlighted that: 

Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, Rodoljub Sabic, has spoken today with William Infante, Head of UN Development Program Mission (UNDP). In relation to talks, which had for their topic analysis of the cooperation until now and its enhancement in the future, the Commissioner, Rodoljub Sabic also stated the following:

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, Mr, Rodoljub Sabic, received today Mr. Troy Pederson, acting Deputy US Ambassador to Belgrade. They addressed the results and issues in the exercise of freedom of information and implementation of modern personal data protection standards in Serbia. They also discussed the possible modalities of cooperation between the institution of the Commissioner and the US Mission to Belgrade.

Noting that the talks had been very constructive, Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic said:

 The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection forwarded the Proposal of the National strategy for personal data protection to the Government. This Proposal was composed together with the European Commission experts. Moreover, the proposal was debated at the international regional event held in Belgrade in mid-May. Following the event, domestic experts were also consulted. Also, the proposal underwent public debate for 3 months. Upon analyzing the suggestions, final version of the proposal was drafted and forwarded to the Government of Serbia.
