In the period between 10 and 12 April 2013 the 15th Annual Meeting of Personal Data Authorities of Central and Eastern Europe will be held. The host of this event will be the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Serbia, Rodoljub Sabic.

Executives or representatives of the competent authorities from 14 countries of Central and Eastern European region will participate in the meeting, namely: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Ukraine, Croatia, Montenegro and the Czech Republic.

The common practice on these meetings is to present national experiences in the development of the legislative framework in the area of personal data protection as well as practical experiences in the application of legal provisions and standards comprised in international documents.

Given the breadth of the field of personal data protection, every year the emphasis is put on certain topics. This year, special focus will be on: data security, data processing in the field of employment, as well as the independence of the competent authorities for the personal data protection and the problems they face.
