Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection has organized the promotion of the publication ''Whistleblower Protection" in the Media Center in Belgrade, today. This is the first publication dedicated to the protection of whistleblowers published in the Serbian language.

The publication has been prepared within the Project ''Whistleblower Protection'' implemented by the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection since July 2012 with the financial support of the British Embassy in Belgrade and the Government of the Kingdom of Holland. The project has had a double goal. Firstly to provide for the Model Law on the Whistleblower Protection to be submitted to the competent authorities for discussion and passing since Serbia still hasn't established a regulatory framework for the protection of whistleblowers, and secondly to contribute to the promotion of knowledge and understanding of various stakeholders on the necessity and usefulness of whistleblower protection.

On occasion of the promotion of the publication the auditorium has been addressed by the Commissioner, Rodoljub Sabic, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Holland to the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Laurent Louis Stokvis, Charge d'Affaires of the British Embassy in Belgrade, David McFarlane and co-editor of the publication, Bojana Medenica.
