Commissioner for Information of Public Importance has been recently contacted by a large number of media representatives and citizens showing interest for problems in relation to access to information contained in the Contract on Sales of RTB Bor to the Rumanian company CUPROM.
On that occasion, the Commissioner, Rodoljub Sabic has stated the following:
„The Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance means the information at disposal of the body in public power, that has originated during work or in relation to the work of the public body in power, that has been contained in a certain document and pertains to the thing for which the public has justified interest to know.
The Contract on Privatization of the RTB Bor represents a document which completely matches the quoted definition. Besides that its subject is extremely, multiply important resource. Having in mind the value of this legal affair, as well as its existential importance for a large number of our citizens, the right of the public to have all the information pertaining to it is completely indisputable, and every dispute in relation to that is unnecessary and harmful.

The Minister has confirmed his consent regarding the right of the public to access information contained in he Contract on Sales of RTB Bor, and that it was never disputable for him. In line with that, during tomorrow, the Ministry and the Privatization Agency shall organize the meeting on which the whole Contract and all the information pertaining to the open issues shall be made available to the representatives of the labor unions, but also to the general public, bearing in mind it shall be allowed for media representatives to be present, including the electronic media.“
