The Commissioner for information of public importance has called once again all the state authorities to perform their obligations regarding the Law of free access to information of public importance. The Commissioner has mentioned that the time has run out for state authorities to make and release, included the internet, Informator bulletins about their work and to deliver annual reports about actions related to the Law of free access to information of public importance.
The Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic particularly mentioned: “The fact that the time for authorities to perform obligations has run out does not mean that the obligations stopped, on contrary. A large number of authorities has not performed their obligations and it is necessary to do this as soon as possible. Accepting the fact that in certain cases their are objective reasons making the performance of obligations more difficult, it is clear, that it has to be undertaken everything to eliminate these reasons. The mass avoidance to perform law obligations is always something to get worried about. In particularly, if authorities does not perform their obligations. The responsible persons have the duty to undertake everything which is necessary to stop this practice and the authorities have to conscious that the performance of obligations represent an example for citizens”.
