The Commissioner for information of public importance and the OECD Mission in Serbia & Montenegro have agreed about continuation of cooperation on employee training in administrations in order to implement the Law of free access to information of public importance. The agreement will permit the organization and the realization of seminars in five regional or county centers.
By this occasion, the Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic has declared: I am very satisfied about the continuing support of the OECD Mission to the activities of the Fiduciary Agent for information of public importance. Education, as a support, is well chosen. Education of citizens, journalists, and above all, employees in administrations, is very important. We can say that insufficient level of knowledge about standards and obligations established by the new Law, represent one of the main obstacles for his correct implementation. In cooperation with the OECD Mission, at the end of last year, it were organized seminars with good effect in county centers Novi Sad, Niš, Kragujevac, Kraljeco i Kruševac. I think that we can expect similar results with five next seminars, which will be organized at the end of February and the beginning of march in Pancevo, Smederevo, U~ice, Jagodina and Prokuplje.“
