The Office of the Commissioner held a round table called "The right to access information of public importance and personal data protection" today in Bujanovac. Representatives of local self-governments and media from the Pčinj and Jablanica Districts got acquainted with the basic provisions of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance, the Rights and Obligations of Authorities, the actions of Authorized Public Information Officers, the role and obligations of Personal Data Protection Officers, as well as the relationship between the right to access information of public importance and the right to personal data protection.
The importance of these mechanisms was discussed by Slavoljupka Pavlović, Acting Assistant Secretary-General, Milan Tomanović, authorized Personal Data Protection Officer, and Marko Milošević, head of the Education Department.
The event was organized in cooperation with the OSCE Mission in Serbia, the Office of the Coordinating Body for the municipalities of Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa, and the Standing Conference of Cities and Municipalities.
