Commissioner Milan Marinović, deputy Commissioner Sanja Unković, acting Assistant Secretary-General from Sector for International Relations, Domestic Cooperation, and Projects Gordana Mohorović, and acting Chief of the Cabinet of Commissioner Dragoslav Đukić met today with Mrs. Irene Khan, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Promotion and Protection of the Right to Freedom of Opinion and Expression and her associates.

At the meeting, the Commissioner introduced Ms. Khan to the history, scope of work, and powers of the institution of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, to the current state of the right to free access to information and the right to personal data protection as prerequisites for realizing freedom of opinion and expression, as well as to the current issues and space for improvement of both human rights that the Commissioner protects.
