Commissioner Milan Marinović, deputy Commissioner Sanja Unković, acting Assistant Secretary-General in the Sector for Supervision of Personal Data Protection, Marko Antić, Heads of Departments in the Sector for Supervision of Personal Data Protection Olja Živković, Emina Kovačević, Ivan Trišović and Milan Tomanović, and representative of the Cabinet of the Commissioner Jelena Denić participate in a study trip to the Federal Republic of Germany from June 12 to 16, 2023. This trip is realized as part of a project implemented by the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection and the European Union (EU for Fight Against Corruption and for Fundamental Rights) through the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

So far, Cologne, Bonn, and Dusseldorf have been visited as part of the study trip, having very useful and meaningful conversations with numerous institutions and individuals engaged in personal data protection and processing: the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI), representatives of the Federal police at Dusseldorf Airport and Cologne Central Station, as well as with the Association of Data Protection Officers Germany (BvD) and The German Association for Data Protection and Data Security (GDD). Primarily the discussion was held about the current moment and state of personal data protection in FR Germany and Serbia concerning the processing of biometric data and data processing through video surveillance of public spaces.
