Before the start of the new school year, on August 30 and 31, the Commissioner visited Prijepolje with the "Digital Expedition" Caravan. Representatives of the Commissioner's Office, Maja Veličković and Aleksandra Lakićević, held several lectures for students of upper grades of primary schools from Prijepolje and the surrounding vicinity. On that occasion, children were presented with new videos, tailor-made for the youngest, which are about to be broadcast on national and local television stations as part of the campaign "Personal Data Is Our Treasure, How Can We Protect It?".
In addition to the videos above, a brochure was presented for our youngest called "Personal Data Is Our Treasure, How Can We Protect It?", authored by Dragan Ilic, a well-known psychologist and journalist, and prepared by the Commissioner within the "New Literacy" program, jointly implemented by the American Agency for International Development (USAID) and the organization Propulsion.
With the help of UNDP, printed versions of this brochure have been provided for all children and interested citizens who visited our lectures on the "Digital Expedition", whereas everyone else can download it for free in electronic format on the Commissioner's website.
This year, the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection joined the "Digital Expedition", launched two years ago at the initiative of the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić. Through thematic lectures and discussions with experts from the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs, the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, and the Office for IT and eGovernment, citizens have the opportunity to learn everything about digital literacy, the importance of digital skills, safe behavior in the online world, as well as other advantages of using the Internet and digital space. Caravan trainings are intended for the broadest population, from young people and their parents to the oldest fellow citizens and civil servants.
