Commissioner Milan Marinović and Deputy Commissioner Sanja Unković participate in the 3rd International Congress of Lawyers (ICOOLAW Bled 2024), organized by the Kec Group, held in Bled, Slovenia from February 27 to March 2. Many prominent prosecutors, lawyers, mediators, and lawyers employed in companies in the public and private sectors, as well as Commissioners and Directors of Data Protection Agencies from the region, attend this Congress which, this year, is dedicated to the application of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in European countries. The Congress's central themes focus on GDPR and artificial intelligence, privacy on the internet, personal data processing and management, and the future of data protection.
On the third day of the Congress, Commissioner Milan Marinović, Director of the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency Zdravko Vukić, and Director of the Personal Data Protection Agency in BiH Dr. Dragoljub Reljić participated in the panel discussion "Data Protection in the Countries of the Region", moderated by Denis Tula, an Information Technology Law expert. The panelists exchanged valuable views and experiences in the field of supervision of the application of laws regulating personal data protection in their countries, differences between the public and private sectors in the implementation of laws, application of misdemeanor provisions, and the challenges that biometric processing of personal data poses before supervisory bodies.
