and Personal Data Protection in January 2023

I.  Case Statistics   

In January 2023, the Commissioner’s Office received a total of 1590 cases, including:   

• 1104 cases in connection with access to information,
• 347 cases in connection with personal data protection,
• 109 cases relating to both areas of work and actions of the Commissioner’s Office,
• 30 cases relating to misdemeanor proceedings.

A total of 1553 cases were resolved during this month (550 - access to information, 879 – data protection, 92 – harmonisation and cooperation in both areas of Commissioner's actions, 27 - misdemeanor proceedings).

There are 4376 cases pending (3713 - access to information, 519 – data protection, 68 – harmonisation and cooperation in both areas of Commissioner's actions and 76 - misdemeanor proceedings).

According to the available call records, a total of 10.952 contacts with citizens and public authorities were made to provide advice on the exercise of the right to free access to information and with citizens and personal data controllers for consultations in connection with implementation of the Law on Personal Data Protection and cases handled.
