A session of the Working Group for drafting the Personal Data Protection Strategy for the period 2022-2030, organized by the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Commissioner, was held yesterday. The session was attended by representatives of all relevant entities, including representatives of the civil sector.

Among the topics discussed were the amendments to the Law on Personal Data Protection in the context of policymaking, as well as the relationship between artificial intelligence and biometric data processing under personal data protection.

At the end of the session, all the Working group members concluded that the Law on Personal Data Protection must be amended for several reasons and that this should be the first step in drafting the strategy.
