Representatives of the Office of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection attended the 69th meeting of the International Working Group on Data Protection in Technology (the so-called Berlin Group), held on June 1 and 2, 2022 in Tel Aviv, Israel. The meeting discussed working draft documents/recommendations on data protection in the field of telemetry and face recognition technology, whose authors are the Israel Privacy Protection Authority, and the German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
Members of the Berlin Group also chose new topics to consider in the upcoming period, namely the data protection in the field of digital currencies of central banks and technology to improve privacy when transferring personal data to other countries. The meeting was attended by representatives of data protection authorities from Albania, Canada, Italy, Hungary, Norway, Germany, Israel, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the European Data Protection Supervisor, and the NGO EPIC from the United States.
The next meeting of the Berlin Group will be held at the end of November 2022 in London.
