 On Wednesday, November 22, 2023, a Conference was held on the topic "Analysis of Sectoral Regulations and Development of a Plan for their Harmonization with the New Law on Personal Data Protection ", in the Main Hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, in the presence of representatives of the highest state bodies and other bodies and organizations in the Republic of Serbia, representatives of state bodies from the region engaged in personal data protection, and representatives of civil society and others present.

Sanja Unković, Deputy Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, presented the practice of the Commissioner in the aforementioned field, while Rosana Lemut Strle from Slovenia and Nevena Ružić, experts in Personal Data Protection, presented the publication "Analysis of Data Protection in Employment Relations - selected topics".

Milan Marinović, Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, assessed in the foreword of the publication that, in addition to the analysis of the current situation, actionable possible solutions have been proposed that will certainly contribute and accelerate the process of adopting a plan to harmonize sectoral regulations with the Law on Personal Data Protection.

Other participants also spoke at the Conference, additionally contributing to a better understanding of the problem of harmonizing sectoral regulations with the Law on Personal Data Protection and contributing to the selection and development of a plan for their harmonization.

The Conference was organized by the Office of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection within the project support of the multi-donor project "Support for Strengthening Rule of Law in the Republic of Serbia"(EU for the Fight Against Corruption and for Fundamental Rights) financed by the EU and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), whereas the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) is in charge for its implementation.
