Najevropljanin(Most European) Awards for successful efforts aimed at faster integration of Serbia into Europe were presented at Award Ceremony ‘'European evening'''  for the ninth time in the City Hall last night.  The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vuk Jeremic, tennis player, Jelena Jankovic, Slovakia's Ambassador to Serbia Igor Furdik , the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance, Rodoljub Sabic, General Manager of ‘'Cacanska Banka'' ,Dragan Jovanovic, President of  Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Milos Bugarin are the winners of the award.

The winner of Najevropljanin(Most European) award in politics for year 2008 is Vuk Jeremic.

- In the last year which was difficult, there was a danger for us to be divided into patriots and Europeans. However, this year, it is clearly impossible to be a patriot without being wholeheartedly pro-European.  In this moment there is no greater aim nor horizon then European integrations-stated Jeremic.

-Slovakia's Ambassador to Serbia Igor Furdik was named Najevropljanin(Most European) for best foreign contribution in connecting Serbia and Europe.

- The EU is not a monolith and it is changing.The EU is also not an area of simple, binary solutions, but complex agreements. We would like Serbia to become a member state as soon as possible-said Furdik, who expressed his gratitude for the award in Serbian. He has also sent a message that Serbia is a priority of Slovakia's foreign policy, and that the European Union needs our country.

The award for the most European project last year was given to Rodoljub Sabic, for the project of Implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance. Sabic highlighted the fact that Serbia will move faster towards the EU, if there are more people who wish to exercise their rights in reality as well as in theory. Jelena Jankovic was not present at the ceremony, but she expressed her gratitude via perrecorded video.

Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, former Chief of the General Staff of the Military of Serbia Zdravko Ponos, and numerous other invitations were present at the awards ceremony yesterday, along with the last year's award winners, representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church, city officials and other public figures.

The First European House, Cukarica established Najevropljanin(Most European) Award in appreciation of successful individual efforts aimed at faster and broader Serbian integration into Europe.

The award has been presented since year 2000, and some of the winners were Predrag Koraksic-Koraks, Jovan Cirilov, Dragoljub Micunovic, Bozidar Djelic, Boris Tadic, Mauricio Masari, Rasim Lj ajic, Hans Ola Urstad, Nenad Bogdanovic, Desimir Tomic,, , and  Zoran Djindjic posthumously.
